Finca Floripondio is one of the most recent farms planted near Samaipata in Santa Cruz, where Los Rodriguez has been experimenting with growing specialty coffee in a region not known for coffee production. Due to its high altitude, a tropical microclimate characterized by high humidity and cool temperatures at night, and a distinct soil profile, Floripondio is the ideal location for experimenting with different coffee varieties. To date, they have planted over 60 varieties at the farm. They hope to discover which are best suited to the land and this particular latitude and altitude. This selected bean presents delicate floral and citrusy notes, representing the beautiful flowers hanging from the Floripondio trees, which the farm is named after.
